2018 has been very hard for Michael. He's been spending all year bravely fighting bone sickness (high grade osteosarcoma). Lots and LOTS of time in the hospital and lots and LOTS of medicines that make him feel pretty terrible. He's sad about being sick, but he still tells jokes and always thanks his doctors and nurses for taking good care of him. Even though he's really hurting, he's trying hard to be a gentleman, making his mom and sisters proud. That, my friends, is brave.
Thanks to you, Michael received a book full of encouragement.
Way to go tribe!

Brielle is a dear 15 year old who loves singing, acting, and caring for children. But she's battling several diseases that have left her very weak and thin. She's been too sick to get out of bed for several months. Even though her body is weak, her heart is very strong! She loves encouraging others and deserves a ton of encouragement which she got from The Good King Tribe--that's you!
Nic is an amazing guy with a passion for family, friends, and theatre. He has traveled the country singing and dancing and putting together theatre programs for kids. He’s also been bravely fighting cancer since January. Even though it’s been tough, he’s remained strong and positive. Queen Jody is a wonderful, loving, and generous woman living life to the fullest. For decades she’s volunteered her heart out in her community —-free babysitting, kids’ basketball camps, summer programs, and countless special events. She also helps take care of her five grandkids! She’s facing an illness that will make it more and more challenging to do things like walk or hold her grand babies (ADLD). But she’s gonna keep loving and giving as long as she can!
Thanks to you, we got to surprise her with a book of love and encouragement! Way to go!
Pull out your big crayons, we're going into battle for a dad of 10--4 they made, 6 with special medical needs they got to choose! He very recently found out he's pretty sick (stage 4 glioblastoma). The sickness is aggressive but hope and love are more so! And you guys don't shy away from big battles. Thanks to YOU, we helped Brian and his family say "no way" to fear and "yes" to peace and hope for a bright future. Way to go tribe!
Davin is a tough kid. He's tough on the soccer field where he loves to play. He's tough when he gets headaches from his battle against a benign but inoperable brain tumor...that means it's not growing right now, but also they can never take it out. But what's really tough is the constant bullying he faces because of his illness. It seems not everyone is as loving as you guys are. (But really, bullies are just sad kids as well, trying to be tough. And they probably need someone to color for them too.)
Thanks to you, Davin has some fans cheering him on. Let's hope together that his tumor disappears.
Little Graysen is a sweet and curious 1.5 year old who recently swallowed a large button battery. (Watch his story here) He was rushed to the hospital where he's had seven surgeries so far. And he'll have several more to repair the damage. He might not remember all of this but his parents sure will. He and they need a lot of courage to keep getting better. And you, The Good King tribe, are SO GOOD at giving people courage.
5-year-old Kelsey is a little girl in a VERY big battle. She has spent the past year undergoing countless difficult tests and procedures to fight a rare form of leukemia. She currently lives in the hospital because going outside or playing with friends or her brother might make her sick.
But little miss Kelsey is a Wonder Girl because she faces all this with the cutest smile on her face. She's a fighter and an inspiration! Sooo many people (and sooo many animals!!) showed up from...
to color their hearts out, including everyone who came to the grand opening of The Good King Outpost (the grant-funded 8 week pop-up coloring studio in Cincinnati!)
22 year old Ashle is an amazing friend and college softball player who has been battling a brain tumor since age 15 (it’s benign but not completely removable). The battle has been tough, full of surgeries, complications and setbacks and lately the things that usually cheer her up don’t cheer her up as well as they used to. She could use a big group of world-changing colorers (that’s you!!) cheering her on! Your book of colored pages was a surprised gift to her at her softball game on senior night! Way to go tribe!
